CORDILLERA AUTONOMOUS REGION

The Cordillera Autonomous Region – Isneg, Isneg Riddles, The Tingguian, The Great Tingguian Flood Myth, Hudhud, Hudhud Hi Aliguyon Oggood, Lumawig, Sudsud, Sudsud of the Kankanay, Ullalim, Adventures of Banna. ISNEG, Northern western Luzon, Isneg live in the northern western tip of the Cordillera Mountains to the Kalinga, Tingguan and Ifugao. They have culture similarities and only the languages differ. This tribe is very fond of tobacco. Lesson 4 Hudhud – Ifugao, Northern Luzon, the most prominent of the mountain people. They are known collectively as Igorots, actually consisting of the major groups. The Ifugaos and Bontocs are the most advanced. Their ancestor built the famous rice terraces over 2,000 years ago without the aid of metal tools. Lesson 6 – Sudsud Kankana-ey, Northern Luzon. The mountain province of benguet is the home of the Kankana-ey. Men wear the traditional G-string. Ormentation by tattooing of the arm is popular among the sexes. Lesson 7 – Ullalim, Kalinga, Northern Luzon, The Kalinga stand tall and are of Malayan heritage. In the past, they were feared for their head hunting activities. It shows that in the different places in the Cordillera Autonomous Region have their own cultures, belief, lifestyle, and status of living or standing in their society. They have different beliefs in religion. They have their own ways of living like hunting, planting vegetables, rice, corn, making some handy crafts own their own style and materials. The Ifugaos plant rice for their everyday living. And they have their different rituals when members of their tribes die. In CAR they have a different story or mythology that tells about their differences and the way they want to show their beliefs…
